DESCRIPTION:The training focuses on running and analyzing the scalability
tests. \nScalability tests allow to tune the amount of resources for the
job being run. During this training you will learn what scalability tests
are and how to interpret their results. Then how to apply that knowledge t
 o your calculations.\nLevel\n\n \nTarget audience\nTraining is intended f
or users who started running their own calculations and need to learn how
to give the right amount of resources to the job at ACC Cyfronet AGH. \nA
genda\n\nIntranode and perfect scaling\, and how it is unattainable in rea
 l calculations\,\nMultinode scaling and parallelization overhead\,\nHands-
on scaling tests\,\nCPU vs GPU power and multiple GPU scaling\,\nReal life
case: specific Ares to Athena transfer issue analyzed\n\nRequirements\nWe
recommend doing this training after familiarizing with the contents of Ru
nning Calculations the HPC way training provided at ACC Cyfronet AGH. \n
 Technical prerequisites:\n\nPLGrid account at https://portal.plgrid.pl/\;
 \nan active affiliation at https://portal.plgrid.pl/users/affiliations\;\
naccess to Ares supercomputer\,\n\nif a participant has the access\, no fu
rther action\,\nif not\, one need to apply at https://portal.plgrid.pl/se
rvices/103 and the access will be granted when joining the team (see below
)\,\nparticipants are not required to have their own grant allocations\;\n
 \n\naccess to JupyterHubHPC\, apply at https://portal.plgrid.pl/services/1
10\;\nmembership in the plggtraining team - the activation link will be se
nt after registration.\n\nThe above prerequisites are required to actively
participate in the hands-on exercises. In case of no active affiliation or
PLGrid account\, please contact the organisers at training@cyfronet.pl.
\nParticipants' computers should be equipped with software that allows S
SH connections. On Windows\, it is recommended to use Windows Terminal af
ter checking if OpenSSH is installed. We advise against using Putty.\nAt
10:30 am on 23rd February 2026\, a Dry-run will be held. Participants are
invited to come to learn how to log in to Ares supercomputer before the tr
aining and resolve any problems with the Training Team.\nVenue\nThe worksh
op will be conducted online on the Zoom platform. The meeting link will be
  sent to registered participants.\nLanguage\nEnglish\nDuration\n3 hours\nR
egistration\nThe Registration and the Waiting list close automatically aft
er 17th February 2026. The Registration may close prematurely if the limit
number of participants is hit beforehand\, but the Waiting List will be a
vailable until the deadline above. Please use this link to register https:
 //events.plgrid.pl/event/111/\nAcknowledgements\nThis course is partially
funded by the EuroCC 2 project.\nThe project has received funding from the
European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (JU) under grant ag
reement No 101101903. The JU receives support from the Digital Europe Prog
 ramme and Austria\, Belgium\, Bulgaria\, Croatia\, Cyprus\, Czech Republic
