DESCRIPTION:A two-day training session entitled “Get Started with Quant
 um Computing” will be organized on 28–29 April (09:00–17:00) at t
 he University of Namur\, Faculty of Sciences (Room S09). This event is or
 ganized in collaboration between NCC Belgium and NCC France within the
  framework of the EuroCC network\, with the support of the Vlaams superc
 omputercentrum (VSC) and the Consortium des Équipements de Calcul Inte
 nsif (CÉCI).\nThe training aims to introduce participants to the fundamen
 tal concepts of quantum computing and to provide a first practical experie
 nce with quantum programming. The programme includes:\nShort state of the 
 art – “A Quantum of Quantum Computing”\n\nWhat is quantum computing?
 \nA brief historical overview\nQuantum states\nQubits\, superposition\, en
 tanglement\, measurement and decoherence\nComputing with qubits\n\nIntrodu
 ction to quantum computing\n\nRefresher on the fundamentals of quantum mec
 hanics\nQuantum versus classical computing\nQuantum gates: theory and prac
 tical aspects\nHands-on session: participants will code their first quantu
 m program (EPR pair) and explore additional examples.\n\nA short receptio
 n will be held on the 29th in the evening to encourage informal discussi
 on with the speakers and between participants.\nThe training is primarily 
 intended for PhD students\, researchers and engineers in chemistry\, ph
 ysics\, and computer science who wish to develop or strengthen their know
 ledge in quantum technologies. It will also provide an opportunity to inte
 ract with experts and engage with the French-Belgian quantum and high-perf
 ormance computing ecosystem.\nParticipation is free of charge\, but the n
